Here I am, looking closely again; there's always so much to see. This is an encounter with a landscape of ragged scars.

I've been a visual artist most of my life. For years, I worked with metal and found objects. I have a great affinity for rust and wear. Now, I am primarily a digital artist and don't often physically wrestle my work to life.
I have chronic, intense full body pain. This blog is, in part, an exploration of the reality of living with disabling pain: the blood and guts of it, the complexity of it, the weirdness and the work. Mine is a difficult body to live in; each day is a physical struggle: this is a body of work.
This blog is also a place for me to feature my art. My art flows through my body and is under its influence: this is my body of work.

Very cool!
Ragged scars indeed. Macro is cool like that. I think the total concentration and intense thought required leads to very meaningful results sometimes. I'm with you (((((())))
Thanks, you two. When I get a good shot like this and positive feedback it helps me not feel so silly when I have my nose stuck in a stand of bamboo or the like. These were taken in Hawaii where most people are taking wide shots of big beaches etc. I got some looks!
Oh, and thanks for the (((()))), Seahorse.
Hey, anytime. I laughed at the thought of you with your camera in a whole bunch of bamboo. Just like me at The Botanical Gardens. I get funny looks too. Especially when the scooter accidentally goes off the path (all the better to get closer to the subject). Though it's far more of an eyebrow-raiser to get off the scooter to get right up close to whatever I'm photographing.
